From Anchorage, Alaska, Jasmin L. Brollier came to Cornish to study Interior Architecture. Her work, however, spans disciplines; she also sketches, paints with watercolor and oils, works with makeup, cooks, bakes, and sews. About her future, Jasmin writes, “Being successful would mean being happy and loving what I’m doing every day.” Jasmin enjoys corn fritters.
“The images here, made in body paint, show the view from my new home on my face and neck. This piece contains in-process shots as well as final posed photos. It shows my growth this year because I was trying something new, which has been what this year has been all about for me. This piece also represents growth.” – Jasmin
“This piece is loosely inspired by Hieronymus Bosch’s triptych The Garden of Earthly Delights, but instead it tells the story of the Athabascan Creation story of The Great Raven creating man. It’s one of my first pieces to incorporate my culture explicitly, and I’d like to continue bringing that into my work.” – Jasmin
