Art + Interior Architecture Group

The work of the Art + Interior Architecture group focused on observing space and the choices exhibition designers make to help visitors navigate a show and interpret works of art. Students measured and built foamcore models of the Main College Campus building at Cornish. They also created an exhibition aesthetic, drawing on the theme of narrative & process combined with their interpretation of the exhibition title, Children of the Corn. They proposed incorporating vinyl, wall color, and installation elements to help create a unified show featuring visual art by Cornish’s first-year visual arts students, themselves included. When our course went remote after spring break, they experimented with an online platform to curate individual virtual exhibitions. Many of the visual choices you see here on the website grow out of the research they’ve been engaged in throughout the semester. By being both nimble and experimental, the students have exercised a new level of creativity. We applaud their work.
